On Feb. 10, 2022, members of the Airdrie Crime Reduction Unit attended an address in Rocky View County to attempt an arrest of a male suspect wanted on over 40 outstanding arrest warrants. When police entered the driveway of the rural property on foot to knock on the door of the residence, the male suspect aggressively drove a vehicle directly at one of the officers, who was required to jump out of the way to avoid getting hit. The suspect then fled the area driving in a very dangerous manner.

A second male on scene got into a black Honda CRV parked nearby and fled through the front yard and out the back of the property through farmers' fields, causing extensive damage to neighbouring fences. The vehicle became damaged and disabled, and the male was taken into police custody. It was determined that the Honda CRV was stolen. The male was also wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for violating day parole conditions.

A 27-year-old male of no fixed address was apprehended on a Canada-wide warrant for violating his parole. He remains in custody.

Kenneth Jacobs (39) of Rocky View County is still wanted on outstanding warrants as well as charges as a result of the incident on Feb. 10, 2022.
