Following the report of a suspected impaired driver, a 45-year-old man was arrested by Bay Roberts RCMP last night for impaired driving.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday, police received the report of a suspected impaired driver in Bay Roberts. Officers patrolled and located the described vehicle a short time later in Spaniard's Bay. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, who showed signs of alcohol impairment, failed a roadside breath test. He was arrested and was transported to the detachment where he provided further breath samples that were above the legal limit.
The man was released from custody and is scheduled to attend court at a later date to face charges of impaired driving. His license was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
