Clarenville RCMP charges Arnold’s Cove man with robbery and multiple firearms offences

Clarenville RCMP arrested and charged 62-year-old Michael Talbot of Arnold's Cove, after an armed robbery in the area on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

Just after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, police received a call reporting an armed robbery at the PharmaChoice Pharmacy in Arnold's Cove. A masked male was reported to have held up the pharmacy with a firearm. After obtaining a quantity of prescription medications, the suspect departed in a stolen vehicle. No one in the pharmacy was injured during the robbery.

Clarenville RCMP, as well as Traffic Services East members, responded to the report immediately and quickly located the stolen vehicle and suspect. After a short struggle, Talbot was apprehended, arrested and charged.

Michael Talbot faces the following charges:

  • Robbery with a Firearm
  • Disguise with Intent to Commit an Offence
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Obstructing a Peace Officer
  • Taking a Motor Vehicle without Consent
  • Additional firearms charges

Talbot is being held in custody to appear in court at a later date.
