A 36-year-old man, who is a known prolific offender in the Hartland region, has been arrested and charged in connection with a number of incidents in the community.
In September 2023, the 36-year-old man was on trial in relation to a number of charges, and was released pending trial. Upon his release, the man immediately began to reoffend and was the main suspect in a number of investigations, including six on November 15 alone, ranging from thefts to thefts of vehicles in the Hartland region. Members of the Western Valley Region RCMP began working diligently to locate the individual.
On November 20, the man turned himself in to police.
On November 21, the following charges were laid against Jonathan Stockford in Woodstock Provincial Court:

- Two counts of theft under $5,000
- Break and enter
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Mischief under $5,000
Jonathan Stockford remains in police custody, and is scheduled to appear in Woodstock Provincial Court on December 7.
The investigation is ongoing.
