Selkirk RCMP arrest 3 and seize drugs following robbery

On January 3, 2023, at approximately 9:50 pm, Selkirk RCMP received a report of a robbery at a business on Main Street in Selkirk, Manitoba, where an employee had been assaulted and received minor physical injuries. Three suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Selkirk RCMP immediately conducted patrols, and the suspect vehicle was located southbound on Highway 9, near Lower Fort Garry.

A traffic stop was initiated, however, the suspect vehicle did not stop. Officers were able to get the vehicle stopped on Liss Road. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot, but was apprehended a short distance away. The two passengers inside the vehicle were arrested.

When the vehicle was searched, stolen property was located, as well as methamphetamine, a substance believed to be purple fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.

Dherraj Kumar, 31, from Winnipeg, is charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight From Peace Officer, Resisting/Obstructing Peace Officer, Robbery, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Harpal Singh Braich, 50, from Winnipeg, is charged with Robbery, Flight From Peace Officer, Resisting/Obstructing Peace Officer, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Possession of Purple Fentanyl.

Talvir Munday, 35, from Winnipeg, is charged with Robbery, Flight From Peace Officer, Resisting/Obstructing Peace Officer, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
