Berens River RCMP conduct traffic stop and seize drugs, cash and a firearm

On May 10, 2024, at approximately 6:05 pm, RCMP conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on the Main Road in Berens River First Nation.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a loaded firearm, 66 grams of cocaine, prescription medication, over $1300.00 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

A male and female were arrested.

Emile Williams, 35, has been charged with:

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Unsafe Storage of Firearms
Carrying a Concealed Weapon
Possession of a Firearm when Knowing Possession is Unauthorized
Possession of a Restricted Firearm without Licence
Weapons Possession Contrary to Order

He was remanded into custody.

A 26-year-old female is facing charges of:

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
Unsafe Storage of Firearms
Carrying a Concealed Weapon
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Possession of a Restricted Firearm without Licence
Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Crime

She was released from custody with an upcoming court date.

Berens River RCMP continue to investigate.
