On August 3, 2024 at 6:56 am Watson Lake RCMP responded to a report of an all terrain vehicle (ATV) crash.
The single ATV crash occurred in the sand pit by the skate park. Watson Lake RCMP, Watson Lake Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services attended. A driver and a passenger were located at the scene. One person, believed to have been the driver, has passed away from their injuries. Yukon Coroner's Service was engaged in the investigation.
The passenger was taken to the Watson Lake Community Hospital for treatment. Neither of the two people involved were wearing a helmet. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
