Holyrood RCMP responds to carjacking in Deer Park; man resists arrest, assaults police and is charged with multiple offences

Thirty-four-year-old Marcus Druken of Goulds was arrested by Holyrood RCMP on April 14, 2024, after reports of a carjacking in Deer Park.

On Sunday morning, police responded to a report of a carjacking on Vineland Road. A car was stolen at knifepoint. The suspect, Marcus Druken, and the stolen vehicle were located a short distance away. Druken resisted arrest, assaulted two officers and was taken into police custody.

He attended court yesterday and is set to appear again today. Druken is charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Robbery
  • Resisting arrest
  • Assaulting a police officer – two counts

The victim of the car jacking was uninjured. The vehicle was recovered and returned to its rightful owner. The investigation is continuing.
