Lake Louise RCMP respond to sudden death on Temple Mountain

On Jan. 26, 2024, at approximately 4:35 p.m., Lake Louise received a report of a back-country skier that had fallen while climbing Temple Mountain in Banff National Park, Alta. Parks Canada visitor safety and emergency crews responded to the call and located an adult male deceased from an apparent fall while climbing the Aemmer Couloir.

The deceased has been identified as a 32-year-old resident of Saskatchewan. Next of kin notification has been completed with the deceased's family in Saskatchewan. The investigation is ongoing; however, foul play is not suspected.
