On March 31, 2024 at approximately 12:15 a.m., La Ronge RCMP received a report of an injured female at a residence on Far Reserve Road in La Ronge.
Officers responded immediately and located the injured female. EMS attended and pronounced the female deceased at the scene. She has been identified as 52-year-old Sharon Brown from the La Ronge district. Her family has been notified and victim services has been made available to them.
The death was considered suspicious and Saskatchewan Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, 33-year-old Brad Ratt of La Ronge has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, Section 235(1), Criminal Code. Brad Ratt was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court in La Ronge on April 4, 2024.
