Selkirk RCMP investigate suspicious vehicle and seize firearm

On March 15, 2024, at approximately 7:10 pm, Selkirk RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Highway 204, just East of Ferry Road, in the RM of St. Clements. It was reported that the vehicle was on the side of the road and a male and female were associated to it.

Officers attended and located the male and female. Further investigation led officers to determine the vehicle was unregistered.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a handgun, ammunition, weapons, cash, leg shackles, 13 grams of cocaine, prescription medication and other drug paraphernalia.

Kyle Clarke, 33, and Lisa Haywood, 45, both of Winnipeg, were charged with several firearm offences including:

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

They were remanded into custody.

Selkirk RCMP continue to investigate.
