Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigates homicide in Fort McMurray

On Feb. 7, 2025, at 1:27 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP received a report of a male with a gunshot wound in the area of 600 Signal Road in Fort McMurray. Upon arrival, police located a male with serious injuries. The victim was transported by EMS to hospital; however, they died from their injuries.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has been deployed and has taken carriage of the investigation.

Police are asking the public to check dash cam and residential footage from the area on the morning of Feb. 7, 2025, and alert police to anything suspicious including the victim's vehicle which is described as a 2007 Grey Hyundai Santa Fe.
