Peace Regional RCMP investigate attempted child abduction

On July 20, 2022, shortly before 3:30 p.m., Peace Regional RCMP responded to an attempted child abduction on Whitehead Drive on Woodland Cree First Nation.

It was reported that a 5-year-old child was playing in the front yard when an unknown male drove up in a dark blue SUV and asked the child to get into his vehicle, so they could go on a vacation. The male drove off when the child's mother came out of the house.

The male suspect is described as follows:

  • Caucasian
  • Possibly in his 60's
  • Tall and Slender
  • White hair and beard

Upon further investigation, it was learned this same suspect had approached another group of nearby children and attempted to lure them into his vehicle.

Local residents do not believe the suspect is from the area.
