A 23-year-old Bay Roberts man was arrested for prohibited driving by RCMP Traffic Services East on November 15, 2022.

Traffic Services East stopped the man for a traffic violation in South Dildo on Tuesday and found him to be prohibited from operating a motor vehicle in Canada, stemming from a dangerous driving conviction. Additionally, he was found to be on a release order not to operate a motor vehicle in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The driver also had a suspended license, owing more than $13,000 in outstanding fines.

The driver's vehicle was seized and impounded. He was released from custody and is set to appear in court in Harbour Grace on January 4, 2023, to answer to charges of driving while prohibited and breaching a court release order.

RCMP NL continues to fulfill its mandate to protect public safety, enforce the law, and ensure the delivery of priority policing services in Newfoundland and Labrador.
